Lingwood Common is a former heath that has 'tumbled down' to woodland. The National Trust has opened up several clearings along the bridleway that runs from one end to the other, and the heathland plants are coming back, and notably lng heather and harebells.
The woodland is mainly oak with birches to the west; and aspen and willow down the stream valleys.
Just stroll round it, or use it as a link between Danbury Common to the south and Blake's Wood and Danbury Ridge further north.
Visiting
From Eve's Corner walk west along Main Road (A414) for 200m, and turn down a steep footpath on the right just before the road turns sharp left. The footpath leads through farmland and woodland on to the common. SatNav: CM3 4NX.
Buses to Eve's Corner.
Accessible at all times.
